What did you do with your tank(s) today?

I am not sure if I will keep all 3 angels. 2 of them were adopted due to someone moving and they didnt know what to do with the fish so I took them in. I would be fine with keeping just my one original angel.

I love the thought of this small fish community tank but and having a difficult time finding fish I want to fill the tank a bit. Looks very empty still. Feels like I could add a couple more Monk Tetra since they school well and an even larger school would look pretty good. 7 currently, maybe bump up to 11. Was thinking of adding some live bearers and a gourami of some sort.

Poor mama angel fought off the larger angel in the tank but it ate up her eggs. Not sure if that means the bigger one is also female? But no love at all between those two.

Gravel vac on the 90g rtm tank and wow thats a lot of poop from a single bristle nosed pleco! The new pleco hasnt been in there long enough to show what it can do yet, lol.

Took some time to gravel vac and clean decor in the 300 too.

Pretty boring day overall but spent some time with the tanks.

From those behaviors, I would agree that the larger angel is also probably a female, in fact, all three of them may be females. It is unusual for a female angel to do a pseudo-spawning by herself if there is a male in the tank.

No known male. 3 angels, no other cichlids. The smallest angel gets picked on by the female but it grew up with the largest angel and they get along just fine.

The only real change recently was that I started using up frozen bloodworms on them. So just a diet change. Same water change routine. The rtm cichlids were pulled out recently too.

Got some food in today. NLS Algaemax, mini wafer is perfect sized for my bigger cichlids and great for my smaller plecos. I used to be a NLS hater because it would turn filter sponges red. But with the new formulas I dont see this happen any longer and they have a nice variety of products now. I use the 3mm (large) float also, which works fine for my 10"+ fish.

Nice!

I have to admit that when I hear 3mm pellets I usually stop feeding my guys that size at about 7” and switch them to bigger!

may unbee pair currently eat the kens 7.5mm. Haha

The 3mm NLS float is very different. I would say its more like a 4.5mm at largest and down to 3mm at smallest. Not the most uniform size. I know there is one more size up from this but the 3mm makes for zero grinding and they actually swallow it quickly.

Did a light water change in the 300 today. Not a lot of gallons changed out but just getting poo off the top of the sand because the fish were stirring it up. So pretty much a gravel vac for the look of a clean tank. Overstocked tanks are fun to watch but for clean freaks like me, absolutely a ton of work.

Cut and installed foam at the new 300 location. The inside is currently soaking in bleach water, cleaned the sides and back. I will drain when I awake. replacing all bulkheads and piping. Hopefully It'll be in its new place and full of water by this weekends end. I have some clowns to pick up, and I cant build the stand for the pleco tank until the 300 is in place.

Went to Petworks in Olympia this morning looking for another sizable piece of Mopani for the 300. I found a piece I liked but I think I might use it for my puffer instead. His driftwood cave is hanging on by a thread. It is Malaysian driftwood which is considerably softer in nature. The piece of Mopani will require a little cutting and drilling to get the cave part to open up.
