What did you do with your tank(s) today?

We took out this huge laurel hedge in the back yard and apparently the morels were growing under its shadow and doing well. Now that the area is all open to the sun, they have disappeared. Would have been cool to grow them in my own yard.

Cool is not the word, but now you've destroyed their biotope! You do realize that fresh morels from Oregon sell for $50-85 per lb., right? Don't even think about the price of morels from France...

I dont miss the giant laurel hedge, lol. A yard full of overgrown trees and bushes, including ones that broke out the driveway.

Stopped by Aquarium Paradise looking for a Convict cichlid to get as a dither for the trimac tank. I cant believe they didnt have any. They would always have a tank full in the past. While there I decided to pick up a Raphael cat to put into the 30 gallon to keep the cycle going. Will move it into a 65B or 75 in the future.

Spent the morning draining the 300 down to be able to catch a fish. The fun of catching a 3" fish in an 8 foot, 300 gallon tank, lol. I had introduced two growout amphs yesterday and only one made it through the night. The sagittae was a bit too small and likely got ate by one of the big bichir.

So the midas went back into the 75g to grow out some more....

I moved some fish. 4 new Bronze corys to the 220g, Bumblebee cat and the 2 largest pea puffers into the 40g bowfront plant house.
I now have 9 corys in the 220g

Shellies for dinner! No, not those, but these, which I collected on the beach at low tide earlier today.

There are so many shellfish on the beach that it takes me about 5 minutes to collect the amount you see here (as well as seconds of the Manila clams). Now if only I had some morels to go with the pasta...

I picked up some 1/2in conduit and a pipe bender and made a light support for the 220g. I plan to hang the light but for now at least it is up off the tank.
The Severum came from my maintenance account. He has all male severum even with random chance and buying them small. Will have to start thinning more soon.

@fishguy1978, nice job with the conduit, the light looks like it is floating in midair. Good looking sevrum you picked up!

New rack 48 tall, 12in to top of bottom rack. 55in long, 30in deep. Will hold 8 29g aquariums.

Water changes on all 4 aquariums on the current rack. Found cherry shrimp in the filter so added them to the pleco grow tank. Added an albino pleco to the shrimp tank.

Wet weather made it so I couldn’t get into the back yard to work outdoors so did some long overdue tank cleaning. Did water changes in the 300 and two 75’s.

Swapped out one rack for another. Had to move the 90g to be able to get through the door. 30in deep rack will make maintenance a chore but I have 120g per shelf.

To combat the brown algae that grows on the sand I added 50lbs each of lapis luster and ozark brown. I did rinse both until the water ran clear.

No major stuff with tanks just feeding and spending time with the little monsters. The amphilophus in the 300 are a blast. All of them are beggars who act like they are starving. The largest male red devil is getting a nice big nuchal jump. He is showing a little aggressive behavior but keeps it in check with no fish getting hurt just keeping them in submission. I was expecting worse since there are just the four cichlids but they are doing pretty well.

Water change on the featherfin 100, and filter maintenance, too. It's amazing that my fish room is not in better shape given that I've been sequestered here for 12 weeks! Planning to take my boat out next week- she was captive in Seattle for 3+ months during her annual service; can't wait!

PHOTOBOMB. This guy is very interactive. He doesn’t hide, eats well, and doesn’t pick on anyone. The SDs make him a little nervous during feeding so he backs off as do the corys.
