What did you do with your tank(s) today?

I do hope the neighbor didn't have something extra in the weed, 'cause I'm wide awake, and Parona was glass surfing like she was desperate for oxygen instead of retreating to her hidey hole to sleep. She didn't stop until I pulled some of the floating water sprite and left the tank lid off for about 15 minutes. No one else seems to be having trouble, tho. There was more oxygen coming in the tank with the sponge filter...I'm wondering if I could hook up the other pump to the 'air silencer' outlet to oxygenate the water or if it would increase the current.

Except for the whole bloody wide awake thing. Thanks neighbor! :p

Edit: Hope I solved the problem. The 'air silencer' tube had water in it so of course it wasn't pulling in air. Gave it a longer tube that actually hangs out of the tank. At least she seems to have calmed down a bit.

Reading sad news. This guy is at that "Is there where I quit the hobby?" Point.

Also, thanks wind lol Everything is full of fir needles. Culture tubs, main pond filter outlet. Just topped off the pond for the second time this week. Summer isn't bad. But this time? Between fir clogging the outlet and wind blowing falling water out of the pond waterfalls it looses more than summer heat. At least the plants on the East facing side are well watered lol

Sad about the koi. Odd behavior to me for animals (Besides humans) to just wastefully kill off the entire pond of fish and not really eat the kill. But he should have had protective measures in place, even the article mentioned electric fence. Friends of mine with a pond had hooked up an electric fence at the edge of the pool to keep out raccoons and never lost koi to predation. Their pond was also fairly deep so it wasnt really an easy feast for any birds like heron.

I honestly think they just don't like the taste. Probably too fatty or something. Eat the brains then grab another.

She was having some swimming issues in the wife's tank. A day of stuffing herself with live food in the 2.5 and she was great. After a week or so of observation I moved her into my sorority where she was very happily greeted back. Even #2 is allowing her on her side of the stick for now. No flaring, just persuasion back to the other side of the stick lol

I just want to apologize for freaking out and spamming the thread last night. Definitely paying for it today with extra dragginess. Everything seems normal today so far (Parona is usually active all day, just not at night), water parameters are normal for my tank, and the fish have some more swimming room and clearer water.

Eh, anxiety sucks and you talked to the few people that can understand and help with the issue. The family might not get it, but the fishy weirdos do ;)

Printing out adapters for the third party filament I ordered. Pretty cool they provide the files for third party. It won't recognize the spool, but I can set that manually. Big deal lol

Got lucky at Pet Supplies Plus in Federal way today. Rest of the packages melted and burst so they got a damage claim and I got heavily discounted frozen foods they just put out :)
Think I was talking to the owners today. Nice people, Beardie slaves too lolPXL_20241023_163447616.MP.jpgPXL_20241023_161805602.jpg

Ive always wanted to check out that Pet Supplies Plus store. Looks like another big box type pet store like Petco/Petsmart?

Nice deal on the frozen food, your fish will be eating well for a while.

It is and isn't. Kind of a 7-11 franchise type thing. We had them in MI and it was always a good experience there. Like Petco and PetSmart as far as merchandise goes. But a bit better experience as it's not fully corporate.

A couple weeks maybe lol We were laughing about it at the store. "Gee will these even last until the expiration date?" lol Betta sorority, three Betta males, sticklebacks... Won't last long with the live cultures outdoors basically being done for the year. What's remaining will be moved into the tubs that had fish in them to seed them for next year. Probably sending one with the wife to work for her sorority too. So next weekend I guess lol

Enjoying my sorority and having pumpkin back in there. She's in the center.

@BPSabelhaus, I see from picture that they have a fish department with live fish. Are they pretty much stocked the same as a typical Petco/Petsmart? I say typical because there are a few exception to the big box store, like Lakewood Petco and Lacey Petsmart that both have more unique items in stock. But typical community fish then?

Pretty typical. This is the one that had white Bischirs (sp?) when it opened. Some goldfish and koi, glofish, basic Bettas, balloon mollies the popular stuff for the most part. I did see some catfish while there. But I don't tend to look much. When I do it's usually at the Bettas and livebearers looking for specific genetics I never find lol I express the genetics I need / like. It's nice to bring in fresh blood though. When I do find genes I want I get them with the understanding that they have a couple months of life to reproduce. Eurofish has pretty healthy livebearers, but everyone else is a race against time to breed it.

Plotting out the next interaction of my pond filter / aquaponics setup.

We all got sleep last night! :D I guess it just took Parona a few days to get used to the radical change. Crawley has been trucking around most of the day, too, with only one brief seizure, and Ryan has decided the current in her new territory belongs entirely to her, and that Parona can come in...mainly because she'd in no way win another fight with an opponent now 5 times her size. XD

I fished out the remainder of the canned carrot I fed Parona yesterday, and repositioned a driftwood I knocked aside doing that. I've also decided to stop with the bloodworms and just do pellets and Bug Bites. Only Sai and Ryan even liked and could handle them.

And then I threw ingredients in my breadmaker. Wheat bread is cooling right now.

When Im logged in and on my computer at work I can see the signature line and it breaks down the fish and names.... But when I look on my phone it does not show that information.

My computer view

Not sure why that is, will have to talk with @lloyd378 and see if he knows. Might just be the way the whole forum runs on mobile devices.
