What did you do with your tank(s) today?

@lloyd378, the wolf is pretty big in comparison to the sajica. I see it ending poorly for at least two which I believe to be female and are 'bite sized'. The three males likely would not last long either, not big enough to defend themselves. My wolf has only had the bn pleco as his tankmate and I have seen him go after it before when the pleco come out of hiding. I raised a anti-social wolf. They can be adjusted to a community tank if its started early on, but mine has been solo a long time.

Yes, I had mine in my community tank from the get go… I only lost a few mollies early on, then I just fed him more. Haha

A bit of running around today to multiple fish stores… went up north to Bridge’s in Snohomish, Denny’s in Kirkland and a super quick stop at Sierra in Renton. Denny’s had 50% off on freshwater fish and I found a nice looking little EBJD that I picked up. Very much an impulse buy. Will see what happens with it since the reputation is that they are delicate.

My 65 with the Sajica is absolutely boring. The fish wont breed, they dont come out or are active unless there are dithers but they apparently like to kill dither fishes. Im tempted to get a large group of a cheap outgoing tetra like the Buenos Aires tetra to try with them or to completely change out stock all together. I’ve actually wanted to go cold water with either fancy goldfish or an axolotl.

Still dealing with my half blind wolf fish. Having moved out the zoo med log, I saw improvements to one eye. The other still looks damaged. Im really wondering if it is the other decor in ther , the mopani wood. It does have some rough edges on the back where he tends to hide out. Im thinking to modify another piece of wood that is smoother to try out and see if there’s improvement. Have to break out wood working tools to make a pleco hide in it

I realized I should have picked up some dither fishes while I was at Denny's and got the 50% off sale price. I think Im going to stop by Petco on my way home and see if I can find an inexpensive dither to add to the 65B sajica tank.

The EBJD is still alive and a very active little thing. I wasnt too gentle with acclimation, with the store recommending a slow drip process but I did do a bit longer with my tank water getting mixed in a little at a time. Seems to have adjusted quickly and is eating frozen foods already. I hear these guys can be delicate until they hit about 3 inches, and are a bit slower growing than regular JD's. Will see how this little guy does, main concern is that it doesn't turn out all deformed once it puts on a little size.

They are delicate! I have raised up a few and none made it past 4.5-5” they were beautiful and very passive.

If I remember correctly, madness had a few in a tank with some beautiful clown loaches.

My work supervisor gave me 13 golden mystery snails and 3 regular BNP juveniles. The snails are randomly distributed as are the BNP. I added one BNP to the 260 as it has a lot of brown diatom. The female choco was 7ft away when I introduced the BNP to the tank. She was there instantly and had it in her mouth. I figured it was over for the free BNP and was glad I hadn’t purchased it. She spit it out faster than she gobbled it up. :rofl It darted away under something and she gave up chasing.

Waiting for a shipment of twelve 2-3" Enantiopus melanogenys from the Wet Spot to arrive this morning. They will be going into a 75 with a small but ever-increasing group of Cyprichromis leptostoma 'Tricolor Black Bee,' so the Enantiopus will have the entire bottom to themselves. This should be fun!

I finally have my bowfront set back up in my living room. Just received my canister today and set it up to start cycling. Lamp is gone, broke it right off the bat. Built the stand, table, and an acrylic lid. Part of a wrap around rail behind the couch and an end table at the other end. Took about 2 month and a lot of woodwork for me, especially working 6 days a week, but I am happy with it so far. Just needing some of the plants to root and probably going to move some of my super reds back into it and thinking of some angels as I put in an fx6, big time over kill I know, but should allow me to overstock, just need to figure out with what.

On alert, we got a level 2 evacuation warning since Fort Steilacoom park has a brush fire going. Came home and got our go-bags in car and turned on sprinklers. A light bit of smoke in air along with a little ash coming down. Just waiting and watching to see where this goes.

Was a scare with smoke in the neighborhood and seeing the ash come down. Could smell the smoke in the air. Thankfully we were prepared with go bags at the ready. Something we prepared for years ago and we make sure we replenish items as needed. Glad we didn’t have to use it!

Yesterday I stopped at Petco in Lakewood looking for dither fish for my Sajica tank and the tanks were pretty sparse. The store is going through a remodel. I noticed the first big change was no tile and they are going polished concrete. Otherwise not sure what else is in store. After Lakewood Petsmart remodeled with the new tanks, they really got lame on the fish selection. Hopefully the Petco doesn’t change too much, this is one of the best in the area for carrying more unusual fish.

Seasonal ash-fall was a fact of life when I lived in Santa Monica. Invariably one range of the nearby foothills would become ablaze sometime in the Fall, dropping large ashes everywhere, and postponing my (daily) tennis game, often for days on end. ☹️
