Another Petco tank sale going on, with some changes. The smaller tanks are not saying $1 per gallon but 50% off instead.

Gravel vac/water change on the six garage tanks this morning. Wanted to get that in early to open up time for some yard work before it gets too hot out.

In our hobby so many of the guys want something big and mean that eats other fish, but I love having my big vegetarian, lol. A 16” pearsei is quite the sight. I probably have at least a year and a half or two to get it to that size in the 300 but it should be a fun time doing it.
Same here. All of my fishes are either strict herbivores or opportunistic omnivores that might occasionally find daphnia-sized thingies whilst sifting the sandy bottom. Of course, that means they save all their aggression for each other, but that's highly ritualized (as shown in the little video below), rarely results in real damage, and certainly no one ever gets eaten! o_O

Porkchop 2.0 in the works. I fed the fish some sinking NLS 3mm and it ate it up. Threw in a few other larger pellets and it was being a bit shy and stopped eating in front of me so I let it be and came back and all the floating foods were gone. Did a big water change in its tank and it was calm as a cucumber. Im thinking it will heal up for two weeks in the 90 and then into the 300.

Lights had not come on yet this morning and I fed the pearsei some floating omega one medium cichlid. It was eating well when I left for work. Its also refreshing not to have a fish freak out as I reach up to put food in. Its that calm demeanor that this fish is known for. Ordered some Omega One Veggie Rounds and NLS Algaemax mini wafers for it last night. It seems like it will eat any type of pellet but I want to be careful to watch out for high protein and over feeding with this one. It sure was skinny when I got it so I am working on getting a little meat on it.

I'm having a hard time getting used to a fish being called it. All my fishes are either he's or she's! Lol! :) :) :)

LOL, Sorry I should say 'He' but the venting was a bit hard to tell, seemed small like male.
This one could be called “pork loin” or “pulled pork” or “tri-tip” or “brisket” or “corn muffin” or “coleslaw “ or “T-bone… so many options. Haha

I came home and fed the pearsei. It came right up front and top to eat. This is just awesome response for such a new fish. Today the look in its eyes was bright and lively, it was happy to have some swim space and not confined to a bucket. It was a bit rough on its front lip from rubbing on the bucket but looking a lot better today.

I ordered a 3/4" hose on Amazon to try out with my new pump. I liked it because its ultra light weight at 1 pound for a 25ft run.

Since there is no real pressure on it, I think it should do fine. Really just looking for more volume of water out. Will be doing a test comparison of this against the python hose.

That looks cool; can you give us the link?

It just came in… looks much smaller in diameter than advertised, but measured at 3/4” on the outside. Just an FYI, all types of reviewers already mentioned its not 30’ but only 25’.

It is so small and lightweight… this is a 25’ hose. Notice not made in China but in Canada
