What did you do with your tank(s) today?

Out the door early this morning to catch the 7:55 ferry to Edmonds, then over to Mill Creek to pick up a 45L from a fellow GSAS member. Now I have four 45L's to complete my new 75/45L stacks. The tank is in really nice shape. Back home by 11:00 with all kinds of ambitious plans for the fish room in the afternoon; it didn't happen. Maybe tomorrow. :whistle

Cleaned up the tanks for my fish room upgrade; getting ready to paint the backs black tomorrow (maybe). Here are the four new 75's; two of them have been painted already.

Here are two of the 45L's. The one I picked up yesterday is on the right, the back is already painted. This is a year-old GlassCages tank; they call them 42's, which is closer to the actual volume. The tank on the left is almost identical; I picked this up from a Fishbox member about 3 years ago; I still need to clean off the salt creep on the upper rim and paint the back.

Finally almost ready to start modifying my existing stands.

Well spotted. Two E30's- a 1st gen M3 (1988) and a Euro-spec 1991 325is. I like older cars. :) But you're supposed to be looking at the fish tanks!
Opps my bad...lol
Used to have an E36 M3 when I was in the Army, had to sell it off when I got cancer. Then in 2005 or so I found a 1980 320 with a E46 engine/trans swap painted Ferrari red.

This morning I went to The Doctor's Clinic in Silverdale to get my allergy shots, and they had a new 10 gallon aquarium on the counter. Just a typical entry level setup- bright blue gravel, gaudy decorations, one small fantail goldfish. A short while later a woman arrived with three young children in tow, and the kids made a bee line for the aquarium. Mom tried to get the kids to sit quietly with her, but she had a difficult time keeping them away from the fish tank, which got me to thinking, 'Why is it that most kids are fascinated by aquaria?' I remember seeing my first fish tank when I was a boy, and I was mesmerized. Is it the fishes? The tank itself? Or just the idea of this pretty little self-contained world? Whatever it is, some of us never lose that childhood fascination; that's why we're on this Forum! :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

I think it is the fascination with a world other than our own, a place we cannot go. I am a believer in the origin of life by intelligent design. The more variety I see in the animal kingdom the more fascinated I become. There are definitely some species I am not interested in either due to aggression or final size but all show deliberate purpose in design.

The purpose is survival, and the process by which this is achieved is called natural selection. I suspect we could have a long conversation about this, preferably over beers.
