I had a laugh this morning as I opened my email and saw a response from a person Ive dealt with before… a person who said they had community fishes but would still make an offer on fish they had no clue on. Truthfully feels like a scam each time they respond to an ad but an older Asian woman called me to ask about my trimacs in the past and I have her number in my phone still. Oh well, a good laugh for me at least.

But maybe you have a different trimac this time. Could be one of those community friendly ones. :rofl

Yesterday I finally got around to setting up the last of 8 tanks that were involved in my recent fish room upgrade. The two 40L's at the bottom of this bank of tanks are just brooding/grow-out/isolation tanks, so there was no big rush. That said, it's nice to have everything back together again, and today I get to clean up all the bits and pieces that have been cluttering the fish room all summer. It's amazing how much extraneous 'stuff' one accumulates in this hobby!

Last time I had left my phone number and she called me asking about the fish. I thought I was being PUNKED when it was an older Asian lady asking if she could put them in her community tank... I should have said "YES"

Feeding the Bumblebee Oscar has been fun, he is quite the little beggar. As I opened the top the actually jumped out the water toward my hand. Hopefully I can break him of this behavior so I dont end up with a jumper and a dead fish. Still debating as to swapping the tanks out between the Oscar and trimac that I have on Craigslist. I want to rethink the decor if I do the Oscar in it. I have a large Manzinita branch in there currently and I like the look but with how clumsy oscars are, Im afraid it will hurt itself.

Feels good when I get an extra cleaning in on tanks. Tonight some light touch ups with a light gravel vac/water change on the 65B puffer tank, 65B Oscar tank, one 90g trimac tank and the 46g community tank. My old routine was twice a week but with all the summer yard projects was down to just once a week.

Just approved this post on the local Facebook group I help admin on…. Didn’t even know that this shop carried freshwater tanks. Sounds like they cater to more planted/ community tanks, but thought I would pass this info on as the sale is good till Sunday.

Wow, a whole day without any posts by anyone. What's going on? :zipped
I kind of got busy at work, then I really only fed the fish when I got home. Today is a water change day for me but getting a slow start on it. Just enjoying the fall weather settling in and having my morning coffee.

Since I did some mini cleaning mid week the garage tanks looked pretty good. Just did some light gravel vac water changes on five of the tanks. I need to still do the shellie tank and then complete the buffer salt treatment on it.

Well I just had one of those ‘should have known better’ moments. I have this bad habit of pulling off the intake tube off the AC110 to clean them out because they look gunky. Problem is I leave the filter running. Most fish are too big to have an issue so I didn’t even think of this when I did it on my 46 Bowfront community tank. As Im at the sink I hear a terrible grinding noise behind me from the filter… sure enough two of my Monk tetra were sucked up. For those old enough to get the joke, it was classic SNL Bass-o-matic. o_O

My dog started barking like it was playing this morning, so I walked into the front room to see what she was doing… apparently one of my SAE decided to jump out of the tank and was flopping around which made my pup excited. I quickly got it back into the tank and it appears to be fine…
Here is a pic of the tank after the skydive.

on a separate note, that envy plant stuff is really working…. The leaves that were dying , died, but the plants overall are coming back to life with new leaves and tons of growth!

Thinking about getting a few more tetras… I have 8 of the Monk tetra and am debating just to add to that school or to get another type and see if they would school together. When I first got the Monk’s I was up to 11. Not sure if I will go get some more tonight or maybe tomorrow. Will see what the stores have in stock and go from there.

Yeah, one of those dumb moments where I just didnt even think twice about it. Went to Petco and bought 3 more of the Red eye tetra so the school is back up to the original 11. Very cool looking to see the school back to where it was.
