What did you do with your tank(s) today?

Been wanting to get new pics of the hairy puffer and pearsei but they are not cooperating. Both are so personable that when I come near for pics they are just all over begging, doing the ‘dance’ thinking I am going to feed them, lol.

This week, thinking Thursday, based off Invoice from Sand City Cichlids, should get my new shell dwellers. Think they will be a lot of fun.

No work on tanks tonight, just spent time feeding and watching them.

Since I had to wait on UPS I did a water change in the 65B with the trimac and moved him into the 90g with the big rhino pleco. The trimac seemed to settle right in like there was no issue. Was flaring and carrying on like he had always been there. Will see how he is later, hopefully stays bold. I water changed the hairy puffers tank too, along with the other 90 housing a trimac.

So now with I have an empty 65B to play with... decisions, decisions

I was able to stop by and visit with @DMD123 during my lunch break. The two trimacs he has left are truly gorgeous fish. His Hairy puffer is super cute.
Hopefully our group order from Sand City Cichlids arrives alive.

Drained the pond and removed the G. Brasiliensis grow outs. I don't think the pond gets warm enough to stimulate growth. Pulled a -1in juve and most being -1.5in. They are in a bucket in the fish room doing a gradual warm up.

The one thing Ive noticed with outdoor raise fishes are usually the intensity of the colors. Must be all the natural UV rays and what not. Maybe even the insects they eat, whatever the combo they usually really look great. Would love to see what one of these guys would look like if left out all summer.

Added my altolamprongus calvus and my altolamprolongus compressiceps -gold head to my classroom tank…. My smaller orange “comp.” I couldn’t find this morning as it was hiding in a shell somewhere so it didn’t come to school.
On a side note, I did accidentally choose a shell that had one of my smaller multies in it so it’s coming home tonight. Haha

Met up with @fishguy1978 at Martin Henry's during lunch to drop off his new F1's.

Not sure why the store is trying to keep that big dovii... the tank is way too small for it long term. Though I think they are using a 180/210 to house some bunnies at the moment that they could set up... still small but better.

Thanks for keeping my F1 Sumbus overnight @DMD123. I have them in a 10g for now and will move them over the the 55g in a few weeks. All 5 are larger than the 4 were that I started with.
Martin Henry's was willing to trade 2 N. Splenden females for my 5 G. Brasiliensis grow outs and 6-8 BNP Julie's. Best deal I've gotten so far from an lfs.

Treat night for the garage tanks. Spirulina brine shrimp was eager taken by the new shellies and everyone looked full. They are so small that it doesn’t take much to feed. Not seeing any “shyness” with the fish being out in the open a lot. No pairing up yet but obvious attempts at territory areas trying to get established.

I spent time this morning on working on garage tanks. Reset all the timer lights to the same time, funny how they all seem to get out of whack with some going fast, some going slow and of course none staying on time, lol.

Pulled the divider out of the 90 trimac tank. Cleaned it up with a good gravel vac and scrubbed algae off the glass. Moved the large Mopani log around and hope I didn’t crush the BN pleco but he was a no show so it will likely pop up one of these days…

Ive been back at yard work so my tanks have been filthy. So what @fishguy1978 and @lloyd378 saw was my tanks at their worst. o_O

Ran to aquarium paradise today to buy some additional shells for my multies… they aren’t as large as the escargot shells but I think they will be good for the fry.

I am also trying out a product called envy for my planted 75g it is supposed to bring the green back in a couple of my plants that are struggling

Let us know how the ‘Envy’ works out. Ive got some of my fancy Anubias that have been struggling from the get go. Still yellowing and slowly dying off. Tossed two plants already. The cheap nana from Petsmart is doing great. Would love to hear if this stuff helps.
