Got home and did some work on tanks

The 65B hairy puffer got a good scrub down, gravel vac/water change and installed the new heater. It is happily begging for food even after all the mess its tank was in. This fish just gets over it and does not pout like some other fish Ive owned.

Did a gravel vac/water change in one of the 90's and installed the second Aquaclear 110 on it. I think once I move the RTM's out, I might put the incoming Trimacs in there.

You know I just thought of something. My apt is really old and it's subfloor is different than newer built buildings.
New construction is 2x6s 16in on center, then plywood then flooring.
My apt is 4x4s 4 feet apart with 2x6 decking on top, then plywood, then flooring.

So I place my 6ft tanks so they sit on 2 4x4s with a foot hangover on each side.
So I will have a 2ft gap, guess I'll put my big fake plant there so the cichlids can't see each other and fight.

Forgot to add yesterday I stopped at the Lakewood Petsmart to pick up some frozen foods. Just a little treat for my growouts. Its really hard to only shop the local shops when the big box pet stores send out $5 off $20 coupons... I know in the past some of the local shops like Sierra used to have printable coupons on their website, havent looked in a while.

I think that pet supplies must be a high demand thing right now in the pandemic, Petsmart was wiped out looking!

I have a couple days to think about where to put incoming fish. Six male trimac set to arrive on Sunday. Not sure how brutal they will be with each other but plan to grow out in a 90g together for a while to find my one keeper. My real fear is that Im going to like more than one, lol. I do have the ability to keep two if I decide to go that route. Each could be solo in its own 90.

Yeah those green umbees have been a real "unicorn" fish for a long time. So cool that he is bringing them back! If I was in to umbees at all I would be jumping all over it.
I almost messaged him to ask but I’m sure they have a hearty price tag as I haven’t seen any forsale in almost a decade

Well, I have free swimmers now... appears to more than I expected. This is the first day of them swimming ( red jewels but can’t identify which species as they weren’t bought by a reputable breeder I do believe that they are two different species though).

I will not put these out to market as I don’t like hybrids getting in the hobby, but I will raise them up and eventually get them into my 220 with the other jewels ( as long as they survive)

Yea not into umbee. I bet Mel would be interested, he always talked about how he was one of the first many years ago to bring in green umbee
lol, I know about your umbeephobia, was just making a joke. Is Mel still fish keeping? He is one of the quiet fish keepers...

Working right now but when i get home i will be lifting the upper level on the new stand 4" to give more room. Add 2 can lights in ceiling for top tank, and hang lights for first level, modify plywood to accommodate the new plumbing for the 2 new tanks, modify existing plumbing for feed and drain. And i think that's it, then next week i will be receiving sump parts and new tanks.
