What did you do with your tank(s) today?

Another one of my fears... power outages. I don't have a generator either and we get a lot of outages in Gig Harbor as all the powerlines are above ground.

Its run its course so I am finishing off some drops I had and using salt. At this point its just making sure no free parasites in the water/gravel survive.

Edit:
Just looked at calendar and today is day 10 of treatment. All is well but will go at least 5 more days to be safe.
Nice. Glad it's better! I've read that some fish that survive ich become immune or at least resistant to further infections.

Had an 8 hour power outage yesterday. Lost power around 3:30 p. m., and it was finally restored at about 11:30. Had been running my generator to keep my tanks warm and aerated, but was worried about running out of fuel overnight. I do have a project underway to deal with that problem in the future, but it is not quite finished yet.

Outages are a fact of life around here in winter, and it's no fun, but it's the fishes that worry me most. I lost a ton of fishes after the Hanukkah Eve storm in 2006, when I was without power for several days, and that was terrible. :(
Are you looking at a natural gas powered system?

I was working on adding an extension tube to the aquaclear filter and when I stuck the plastic tube in the water the puffer came rushing out of the sand and bit the plastic tube! I had to stick a net in the tank and hold him in the corner so I could put the tube on. lol Thats one thing I like about these guys, zero fear!

I lost power yesterday too... only 2.5 hours. I don’t even have a generator but it was a good wake up call to me to invest in one ( even though I’ve only lost power twice in the 14 years I’ve lived here

My power outage the other night was also about 2 hours. I put the battery powered air pumps on the tanks but I really was wishing for a generator.

Twice in 14 years! Wow. I would say that I average at least 4-5 outages of >1-2 hours every year!

Yeah, we’ve been really lucky but then again most of the power lines in the area are buried ( and thus the reason we lost it yesterday ( a company was installing underground broadband cables for internet so I think they shut off power to work

Ive always wanted to go to Bridges Pet to check it out. From what Ive seen online they look pretty cool. Kind of half gift shop and half pet store. Reminds me of the old Pet-Pourri that was in Everett.
