What did you do with your tank(s) today?

Over the weekend I did water changes on all tanks. Moved 7 recently acquired flagfish to their own unheated 20L. Moved marble goby to 20G growout with some more plants/structure. Painted some more concrete block to be used as stands, gathered prospective driftwood from property which I'll have to de-bark (any tips?). Moved my pet giant house spider top another container. Mixed up some seawater and put it by a window to grow algae in preparation for amano shrimp breeding attempt.

Woodworking day! lol

Been soaking this Mopani piece in my 90g growout for weeks and the tannins are finally at at reasonable amount. So I did some cutting with my sawzall at the base to make it flat so it will stand firmly upright now. Took dremel to sharp edges so its all ready to add to my 300.

This is another piece for the 300. It is an additional ‘branch’ that will rise vertically to match the large piece added yesterday. Im boiling the root portion to release tannins faster. I will need to make a slate base and screw it on to prevent it from being dug out and knocked over by the cichlids digging.

yes! That’s what I did. I bought slate tile from HD.

When I had purchased some woods in the past they had sandblasted off the bark. But it was the thin type on Manzanita wood.

I wish I hadn’t sold my pressure washer haha. I don’t know what species this is, the bark seems pretty easy to flake off though. Maybe I’ll use a sander

Did you make sure your wife wasn't home? And make sure not to use the 'nice' pot?

Self made mistakes in my fish room bug me but when I screw up on someone else's tank Im miserable. Forgot to plug the heater in last week when I set up the new tank for my buddy. Thankfully the wc sev a d blue line are still alive. They have a terrible ick infestation so fingers crossed I can save them. Left instructions to dose paraguard daily.

Temp on one thermometer read 72 another 68. I've done the same thing at home on the 220 several times with no ill ill effect. I think this was the combination of move and tank temp crash. He lost the 2 festivum and a multipunc or petricola too.

I know how you feel... The Paraguard is the best treatment I know of for ich, but you really do have to dose every day for at least 7-10 days. I'm sure you know that. Good luck!

Been dealing with a light case of Ich myself. "Free" fish come with a price! Brought home a nice looking little clown loach and it had an issue. So far it is a very light case and the other fish have not got it. Been doing my Ich treatments and gravel vac'ing to make sure to remove the cysts.
