Today was a bummer day in my fish room... I came outside to find my 13” female umbee completely descaled and missing an eye!
apparently my male snapped and went after her! She had a hiding spot, but rarely used it as for the last year and 1/2 they have got along peacefully and bred like clockwork about once a month.....
im just going to keep the male by himself now, though I do believe he earned the Nick name “OJ”

Water change on the 220g and dosed Paraguard, fed live Bb to the multies, Sumbu dwarf, pea puffers and guppy’s. Got lucky catching the albino bnp out of the 29g, she swam right into the net. Moved her to the 120g.

Pothos filter upgrade. Using a Hydor canister I acquired for circulation. Drains through the hole in the bottom of the pot. I would rather get a trough style planter and use a bulkhead for a guaranteed return to the tank. Kinda iffy about it right now.

@fishguy1978, I have some pothos starts going to try some filtration myself. I was thinking of adapting the ac110 filter housing to hold plants. Idea was based off the elive aqua-duo

I have an AC 50 running on the 55g with no media that would be ideal to try. I stopped at Lowe’s and grabbed a window planter and in 5min had a pothos filter running on the 220g.
In other news scored some rocks off CL

Lots of fish work, mostly water changes over the weekend. Visited Midway for some pretty livebearers, a couple of gouramis and some flagfish, which I've never kept before. All in QT at the moment. Went to Petsmart and impulse bought an FX6 for $250 but planning to return it because I really don't need it hahaha. Marble goby arriving today! Pics to follow... Have a nice week everyone!

I have poor impulse control hahaha. It was such a good price (normal is like $350)
Today was a bit of boredom so I took off for a drive and ended up at Midway, then Sierra and finally at the Aquarium Co-Op. No fish came home with me on the journey of boredom, lol. I did get a small piece of mopani, a plastic plant and some sponges, real exciting stuff!
