Is it a good idea to be trapping a threatened species? That's what I was wondering. Outside of known locations. Was thinking skulpins as well. But it's time to make some traps lol

Bad idea. But I don't know what is in there. It's a man made drainage area out of its known locations. I doubt there's anything, but I'm going to find out. If it is mud minnows I'm definitely contacting WDFW etc... so they can verify and do what they do. If anything I'm leaning sculpin or maybe sticklebacks. I don't think sticklebacks do that though and not sure about sculpins. Is it a good idea to be trapping a threatened species?
Late March / early April is about the earliest for those. Don't have my notebook handy lol Willow is about the only thing that stays somewhat wet. So maybe in those small pockets. Still team doubt though lol I forgot I already made a fish trap. It's attached to a fly rod lower and reel so I can drop it down the ten feet from road level to mill creek where sticklebacks are.If it dries up like that, I’d have a hard time believing that any fish live in there, but on a different note, is it not too early in the year for tadpoles? As a kid, I remember collecting them in the spring. Good luck hunting either way!
I wouldn't be surprised if he guards them lol Once my males started making nests, they stopped being useful for Endler fry. The females will eat them though. The males basically ignore them unless starving.View attachment 15027
Sai is clearly hoping that one of the females in the tank will spontaneously turn into a betta and will be impressed by his ability to count instead of make big nests. Next maybe he'll try to raise any blue rasbora eggs he finds instead of eating them.

PS - Right after I posted this I turned around to see him out front trying to impress Parona (panda garra, who's just a bit bigger and chonkier than him) with his fishy manliness and her responding "Play? YOU WANNA PLAY, BOY? LET'S PLAY! PLAYYYYYYY!!!" by chasing him across the front of the tank bumping and rubbing against him every time he stopped until he fled to the top of the filter in the back.![]()
It still has baking soda, plus some acid. The milkiness is the corn starch in it.I went to WinCo to get baking soda for the Tropheus tank several weeks ago. I brain farted and got baking powder. I have been so confused as to why it wasn't mixing in but making milky water instead. I even labeled the container as baking powder. I am so dense sometimes. Thankfully, there have been no ill side effects
