Don't be ashamed, it's been nearly 2 years since I put the substrate in my 45 and I plan on vacuuming it zero more times, I did the "wave and hover" maneuver in my 29 today, and the only vacuuming in my 125 was to tidy up the sump. Honestly the only time I vacuumed the big tank since building it was after treating for camallanus. Not saying the no vac is the way for every tank, but no one's judging you .but it’s been a month since my last gravel vac on my cichlid tanks in the garage
Mine acted that way when I bought it. They actually had a sign up not to tease the wolf. But it got shy for a long time and now its super outgoing but pretty blind so the fun of the fish is a bit dampened.Stopped by petworks in Olympia to grab a couple of different live plants for the discuss tank ( crypts) and saw the most remarkable thing… they had a red wolf fish that was about 3.5-4 inches, just a little thing, but it was swimming mid level of the tank right up against the glass and when I got close it charged at me.
Completely different than my old one that would hide nonstop or Dmd’s that also is a bit aloof.
If mine had acted that way, I would have kept it.
Green spot puffer, gobies and a Molly as a mascot. You are so clean going brackish and the issues that arise with nitrogen control shouldn't be a challenge. Would be pretty cool.Another wolf fish (maybe a purple or orange) or puffer
That would be one of the more active puffers and gobies are so cool. Hadnt thought to go brackish... Not sure if I want that extra work though with the special water conditions. This was a main reason I got away from a shell dweller tank was the extra work with the water. I like the ease of just tap water at correct temp and then just add Seachem SAFE and Im done.Green spot puffer, gobies and a Molly as a mascot. Have you given any thought to adding the sajicas to the severum tank? I feel like they would be compatible and it might even lead to them breeding.I think I might be ready for some stock changes... I know that three sevs are too much long term for a 90g, feel as if I should rehome two and just keep the one as the center fish. Maybe add a couple mid sized schooling fish for a bit of activity along with a smallish pleco, then call that one fully stocked
My 65b with the Sajica has been a disappointment with no breeding activity or much else to see happening in that tank... thinking a complete redo of stock. Something solo and outgoing? Another wolf fish (maybe a purple or orange) or puffer?
Kind of leaning towards just keeping the largest dominant male. Sajica males are quite attractive and can get quite large with many case Ive heard of them over 6". I wonder if a single male sev and sajica would work together? I know the sev can hit 8"+ easily...Have you given any thought to adding the sajicas to the severum tank? I have a 6” turquoise sev that was living with a 2” buttekoferi and now it lives with a 5” polleni and a 10” chocolate cichlid along with two small polysKind of leaning towards just keeping the largest dominant male. Concern was more about the sajica male being a bully than the sev. I actually have the ability to play musical tanks at this point and see how it would fare.I have a 6” turquoise sev that was living with a 2” buttekoferi and now it lives with a 5” polleni and a 10” chocolate cichlid along with two small polys
