What did you do with your tank(s) today?

They have that stuff in stock at the Petco in Poulsbo. Pretty pricey when you buy these little canisters.
Ive found the small or large size pellets in stock but not the medium. My oscar could eat the large but I know he would grind it up and make a huge mess. Its about $2 more a canister from Petco than what I get it online but again, none of my regular online suppliers had it in stock.

I’ve noticed a few different brands I use have skyrocketed in price! What I used to buy from Ken’s ( xtreme, Dr basslers, and Ken’s brand ) used to be around 50 prior to shipping costs and when I added them to my cart last week, I was at 85 prior to shipping. I canceled that order and plan to run up to tropical fish world and pets to get the xtreme so I won’t have to add shipping costs too.

I've been very unhappy with the last few orders of both spirulina and plankton flakes from Ken's, as they were mostly crumbs, not flakes. This is odd because one of the fortés of Ken's used to be the size of their flakes. I have now switched over to spirulina flakes from Brine Shrimp Direct, which are really large and can be ordered in 3 lb. buckets.

Played in the fish room today. Water changes throughout as well as adding more decor to the 600. Still working and tweaking the look of it before I start adding the species I want to put in there. Currently I have already moved my entire Loach collection into it, the tank they were in they dwarfed the tank I barely even see them in this one this thing is so huge.

With the movement of the loaches to the big tank I have freed up one of my 120s, now to decide what to do with this one. Any ideas? No Keith no Africans LOL. Was actually thinking about getting a group of seven cupido's

Also visited an old friend and past owner of a place for pets, Kevin. He gave me two breeding pairs of true Texas cichlids I will be keeping one of them and moving the other. Anybody interested or know anyone that may be interested let me know. He also might be sending my way some tuba and Heterospila.

Cool, how is Kevin doing? Still working at distribution of aquarium fish?

Wow. I've known Kevin since he was a fish-keeping newbie working at Sierra Pets in Renton, like 30 years ago! He got me my first batch of Tropheus after he opened A Place for Pets; that had to be around 1999 or 2000. Send me a PM with his contact info if you can? Would love to send him a note. :thumbsup

He is doing quite well. He has a lady in his life now and i don't think i have seen him this positive and happy in a long time. He currently is working TSA at the airport, no more distributing fish.

The beast is complete, still wish i could attach videos. Still some decor ideas, and will probably be playing with that until i finally get what I'm looking for. 600 gal tank with a 140 gal sump. Water flowing at about 7000gph.

I finally moved in the group of fish id like to see in there. Some amphs and some vieja and a couple festae. Screenshot_20220904-095241_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20220904-095247_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20220904-095254_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20220904-095303_Gallery.jpg

@Madness, looking good! The creamsicle is front and center in the one pic, I miss that guy, he was quite the character with a ton of personality.

Nothing really new in the fishroom. Watching my growouts put on size. Noticing the growth on the little albino hoplo cats in the 65B along with the bocourti. Still thinking a good six months before I can put a bocourti into the 300. Im getting very impatient waiting for them to grow! Think of future plans too as to what to do with this tank (65B). Likely will keep the 4 hoplo, add my green phantom from the 46 bowfront and then maybe try a gold or super red sev and some type of colorful schooling tetra. Basically a nice community tank with something colorful in it.

Been very focused on yard work at the moment so not much going on besides water changes and feeding.
