Turned an empty 10 gallon into a hermit crab habitat for my daughter in her room…. She named them thunder and lightening. Haha

I also did water changes and gravel vacs on my garage tanks (5 tanks).48BA6366-F256-4ED3-A837-67AE6510129E.jpeg86502725-C42C-4D60-9AF4-A39175FA071E.jpeg

I need to cut the humidity in the fish room so I picked up a sheet of double wall polycarbinate and made tops for the 260g during my lunch break. I am also planning a drain line for the auto water change system so that the overflow goes directly to a drain instead across the floor.

Another new avatar? I hadn't even become accustomed to the last one yet!

I was able to move all but one of the Harlequin Rasboras out of the male N. Splendens frat house and moved a few rainbow cichlid juvies in.

Been very busy at work and at home for the past couple weeks so I just haven’t had the time to do much but pop on and “like” a comment or two and see what was going on in fish keeping land. Even my tanks where just getting lame drain and fills with no gravel vacs. They where starting to be hard to see into with the green algae on the glass…well not that bad but a bit rough looking for sure. So this week I have done some extra cleaning and they are looking pretty good again. I have a few more tanks for tomorrow but overall feel back in control.

I have noticed recently an uptick in aggression in my shell dwellers tank (75g with 50+ shells and a rock section that resembles Stonehenge).

The one aggressive fish is the F1 alto comp. That I bought in the group order. It had nearly doubled in size from when I got it.

Two weeks ago I lost my calvus ( it looked beat up), and more recently, I haven’t seen any multi fry or a couple of the females o it and about.

Starting to believe the compressiceps is using the tank as a hunting ground. Which is coming far faster tha I imagined !

Morning water changes and cleaning some Aquaclear 110’s out. This was the first time Ive ever had a nylon mesh bag from them disintegrate. I think it was a newer Fluval model. Thankfully I had other mesh bags in my spare parts box.

@lloyd378, do the multi’s put up a fight or stand up to the comp at all? My Occy’s are uber aggressive and Ive seen the largest confront my calvus and thats with no fry to protect.

The males flare and charge but the females dart into the shells

Spent lots of time on tanks this weekend, lots of stuff caught up on! Also decided to sell off the shellies... its a tough tank to maintain in my lower rack set up. This tank has the light Aragonite and its tough to keep it clean, basically same issue as when I had my puffer in there with the fine sand. I think if it were a small gravel instead it would be a much easier tank to maintain. So now to decide if I still want to do that tank or possibly give the 30 gallon to my future daughter in law so she can get back into keeping Panda cories...

Took a little time off for a long weekend. Will try and get caught up on finishing the cleaning of a couple Aquaclear 110's in the garage.

My smallest bala shark in the 300 hurt his snout in front of an eye and it looks pretty bad. Im thinking of putting him in a 90 and medicating him. looks like the wound might have got infected. Will do large water changes first and see if that helps.

With my long weekend I was thinking of going to Portland over the weekend and maybe visiting Wet Spot. Nothing in stock that Im interested in at the moment but I always like to look around.

May want to check out a few other shops while down there ( that is if the other local ones haven’t closed down).

What are you looking for/ what tank would they go to?

Seems they have WC Aequidens diadema in stock. These would be a nice addition of somebody's fish room.

Unfortunately, they haven't brought in any new Tanganyikans in ages, so nothing much to tempt me... :(

Still looking for hoplo cat, marble albino type preferably. PetWorks has not had them and they get their stock from Wet Spot who also are showing out of stock. Was looking to do a small group with my Oscar.

Fire eels are awesome! They are quite the sight when you see a massive one.

Yes, it has been a fish I’ve had my eye on for some time now…. Though I’m going to have to use press and seal wrap as he already attempted to escape this morning…. I got to him before too much damage was done and he’s swimming around the tank with an abundance of slim coat now….. it’s a wait and see at this point, but I think he will recover

Lot of decisions made… the shellie tank will go. Im going to rehome this to my sons girlfriend. The shellie tank will get a new home and get replaced by a new Fluval Flex 32 that I picked up from Sierra in Renton this afternoon. Now I need to figure out what I want to do with the Flex…
