What did you do with your tank(s) today?

Last week I purchased a small yo-yo loch to eat the snails in my planted 75g….. it is nowhere to be found now. It’s crazy since this isn’t the first fish to go missing in this tank. Nothing in there would kill it nor would anything in their eat the entirety of its body ( I removed all of the wood to double check it wasn’t just hiding).

i may rescape this tank to resemble some of the Bermuda Triangle conspiracies that circulated in the 1990s. Haha View attachment 10512
Oh it's in there, it's in there. Probably just going up and down somewhere. :rofl

Did you look behind the tank? That's where I always found them.

Today I met up with a fish keeper from Bremerton who stopped by and got the last trimac I was selling. He has two 210g tanks and had a 125 that the trimac was going into. I told him about Fishbox and hopefully he will join up. He was also looking for a bichir so I passed info to him of @FishBeast who happens to have some for sale.

This weekend now involves rethinking the aquascape on the 90 to accommodate a full grown Oscar in the future. Some of my driftwoods are just too big and I need to rethink things. I really need to do another driftwood sale but these pieces are big and were very expensive so I need to think about it a bit.

Water change morning with all the garage tanks getting a good cleaning. I did a medium water change on the shellie tank. I feel much more confident now with the use of the buffer and doing a slower refill. Not shocking them with any sudden changes seems to be working well.

Spent time over the weekend working on tanks. Cleaned up a second FX6 on the 300 with new foam, gaskets and silicone greased the drain valve. Went back together with no leaks. Still have one more to do but will let it be for about two weeks so I dont crash the system. One FX6 is still established so no real worries but need to let the other two filters seed for a bit. Finally pulled out my UV that leaked and did the Gorilla Epoxy over the lens. I actually did inside and out on both the front and back lenses so it should not leak from either in the future. I had made this an easy to remove set up with union valves but noticed is I could unplug the power cord from the long cable and transformer it would be even better, so I will do that before I install it back in. I picked this particular TurboTwist model because you can change the bulb without breaking the water seal. Separate chamber for this so it works well except for the attached cord which means twisting the cord to change. but the plug fix will remedy that.

Crazy windy and rainy here this morning, so fingers crossed I don't lose power; will not be doing any water changes today, just in case. Not showing any significant outages in North Kitsap, although my girlfriend on Bainbridge was without power for several hours this morning. Vashon is completely out! o_O

Made some snail jello last night as I have a clutch hatching and need to build shell hardness. My ramshorn population was too low too so I added some additional protein to get them a bit stronger. Today I'm testing the recipe in a few tanks and it seems to have caused a frenzy state with the fraternity and maternal endlers, the multis, and hopefully the fish get bored as the snails are too timid to take what's theirs.

Tastes like chicken?

Likely tastes like peas, green beans, krill meal, fish meal, seaweed, corn, garlic and a potent hit of calcium carbonate. I've never tasted calcium carbonate but I have always assumed it tastes chalky like tums.
Sure you have: think that mineral-y, slightly chalk-y taste hiding just behind the brininess of a perfectly fresh oyster on the half shell, and that slightly dry taste in your mouth after you swallow (and before you sip your Muscadet). Damn, too bad it's high tide! :roll

At Teriyaki right now, picking up dinner since we lost power at home this afternoon. PSE said power would be back on a 3... lol

I will put my battery air pumps on the tanks when I get home. Hopefully a short outage.
