Gravel vac/water change on the 300 after work today. Pearsei doing very well in the tank and extremely outgoing. Cant wait to get him to adult size.

Water change day for the maintenance account and then some of my tanks too. Gravel vac on the 260g. I also discovered that I lost my main BNP female. I would rather have lost the male so I could steal the male from the 120g but oh well. Really is time to start a new species.

Caught a nearly-to-term brooding female Cyprichromis leptostoma from a 125 (no mean feat!) and transferred her to a 40L brooding tank. She's not very big, so I don't expect many fry, but she seemed to have a mouthful! When cared for properly, these fishes are precocious, and start breeding when quite young. That said, Cyps are rarely maintained properly, being viewed by many as just 'Tanganyikan dithers.' That's a pity, because these are wonderful fishes.

Not much in the fish room yesterday but today when i get home, a full room water change is in store.

I also placed an order with The Wet Spot for some new members. (To bad the FS post has gone dry since posting) i am getting 2 bichirs an Ornate and a Tuegelsi. 2 plecos an L137 and an L091, and some Cupido cichlids to add to the SA pleco tank.

Very cool! I had a small colony of Biotodoma cupido years ago, and just loved them. Very sweet and interesting fishes, they reminded me of a larger version of Microgeophagus altispinosa. :thumbsup

Not a lot going on in the fish keeping world for me right now, did extensive filter clean up on all garage tanks so just simple water changes planned for the weekend. The 300 needs all three FX6's cleaned out but I usually spread those out so I dont crash the tank. But I just havent been motivated to get to that yet, lol.

I am at a point where I want to change up some stuff but again still sitting on trimacs... I might just lower the Craigslist price to move them out. Been thinking about rehoming my large red devil too, this would open up a ton of opportunities for stock change.

I reposted my Trimac Craigslist ad and got a very serious response back. I might have a buyer coming from Aberdeen to pic up the fish on Friday. they wanted all three. Hopefully this works out. It would allow me some freedom to empty out the 30 gallon for a possible shell dweller tank and move the trimac out of the 65B into the divided 90 for a project in the 65B too. I still am thinking of trying a red wolf fish in the 65B. Anyways it was good to talk with someone who seems to know what they are looking for. Will see if it works out, but potential good situation here.

The brooding female Cyprichromis leptostoma that I moved into an isolation tank on Monday evening released her fry this morning- 8 little ones! That might not seem like many fry for those of you accustomed to substrate spawners, but if you saw how small the mother is, I think you'd be impressed. I'm very happy to have these fry, and this batch is larger than I expected. :)

Tomorrow I took the day off work to relax. The person interested in my Trimac wants to come get them. I hope it happens since they are in Aberdeen! This weekend might be a good time to catch up on the 300 and do filter cleaning. I still have not fixed my UV that sprung a leak either. I have the epoxy for that just need to pull the UV out, clean it, dry it and put the epoxy in place. Never ending work, lol.

If the Trimacs get picked up then I might venture out to a store or two over the weekend to look around and see what they got.

If I do this I might have extras from the sound of it. Might have to buy up to six to get a possible pair. Looking at the ornate juli but saw some other interesting ones...

Run that by us before you pull the trigger: not all Julies will be happy in a tank that size... :whistle

If any of you go with J. ornatus and don't end up with a pair, I can always give you a male (or female) from my colony to make things right. Unfortunately, I don't have enough of these at the moment to just give out pairs (things slowed down during the upgrade), and in any event, it's always a good idea to start out with different genetic stock. :thumbsup
