What did you do with your tank(s) today?

Love buying equipment when it involves setting up another tank or upgrading but today I had to order a new LED light cause the fancy Current USA Satellite plus started to die. It was flickering and unresponsive to the remote. It is on full bright at the moment with a little yellowish tint. I have this fixture going on my 300 and they have been going for over 5 years and no issue, this one is only 2 years old. I am replacing with Beamswork EA full spectrum and the fancy dimmer/timer.

Looking at my tank racks I thought it would look strange to only replace the one fixture since the other tank on the left would not be in the same tone so I ordered another Beamswork. This will let me take the Current USA fixture and put it with my 30g. This means I now need to set it up, lol. I do need a filter with it to get it running.

Drove out to port Orchard today to visit The Glass Box. Nice little shop, left review in the review section.

A bit of excitement in my growout tank last night with the rd and rtm going at it. They where calm when light went out but both looked tired.

Today I moved my 3 spot guarami out to my ornate poly growout 75.... it started to get aggressive with not only my female Molly’s but also my Pearl guarami.

it is now out there living with the Australian rainbow that killed my first two bosmani rainbows

Went back and looked at your pictures of the 3 spot and you do have a male. They are a bit more aggressive compared to the females. My female is pretty calm, no issues with the new flame Gourami being added, also a female. But it did not like the new blue wag platy which has similar color

You want a male for your female? Haha
Just joking I know you don’t want a rank full of drama!

I plan to eventually get some hemichromis sp moanda from wetspot once they open back up and restock. I haven’t received an email back when I wrote them on Monday and guessing they may have lost power like a lot of the rest of Portland. My hope is that if they did, they had generators to keep the tanks going

Took a video of my community 75.... plants are finally starting to grow... I need to cut the start off the plant up front and transplant it elsewhere.

Could be. I haven't dropped any off for a while. I need to call Martin Henry's to see if they want any.
This is an aspect of the hobby that’s tough, where to get rid of fry when you have active breeders. Ive thought about it myself in the past but not sure what would be worth it to breed and then try to get them to market. Open your own store? lol

That's why breeding Tropheus was so much fun. Typically ~6 fry per brood, for fishes that sell for $20-30 each retail as little ones, and never any danger of supply outstripping demand. And if you don't want to sell them, leave everything in place, and the colony will be self-sustaining. I have a colony of T. sp. 'black' Bemba that I've had going continuously for almost 20 years.

lol, not trying to get anyone in trouble by having them open a store... :D

I had read an interesting article a while back: https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/fish-for-profit

I think an issue is how many stores do you have in the area that would purchase fish from you? Plus many would only give you store credit not cash. Its just something I have thought of since I have tanks I could breed something in and fish of interest but where to rehome fry would be an issue. I guess I could just do it for fun. ;)
