What did you do with your tank(s) today?

Well thats a bust... Master Card does not double the labor warranty and it does not cover things 'attached' to the house basically once its installed. Im pursuing this with the Navien water heater company. It was only 3 months out of warranty and who knows how long it was leaking for.

Worked on a couple of live plant groupings. I felt like I had used some big lava rocks so I cut them down with my grinder with a masonry blade. They seem a bit better in scale now. I need to do trim and replant some java fern. Tough for me to make a live plant tank look good because I need to get some more tall background plants.

I moved my two Oscar’s and my female chanco to my 125g, moved my severum to the 75 w/ the chocolate cichlid, and moved the big monster midevil ( hulk) to the 220g.

It’s amazing that he makes my largest tank look like a standard 75g tank with his immenseness!8031EF12-2650-4718-AC03-D589DA5E0D72.jpeg

Those spotted silver dollars are the ones I picked up from fishguy1978 a week or so ago! I believe he said they were about 4.5-5” in length.

Spent time on the 300 for my weekend water changes and tank cleanings. Tank is pretty calm with just the two big balas. Im think I was likely dealing with two males when I had the three because there was a lot of moments of unrest with them. A real nice calmness now. It seems like I could use one more fish in the tank though. Something a bit odd, not too big or aggressive, and that doesn’t need to be in a school. I would love a catfish of some sort but not a good match with the bichirs which can bite whiskers. Another cichlid maybe? Has to have right temperament and size. Or just leave well enough alone when all seems to run smoothly, lol

Are they skittish? They are nocturnal if I remember correctly?

This is an interesting suggestion. A unique looking fish for sure. I would love a large black ghost but a little too peaceful for the bichirs from what I gather.

had one once that was super outgoing during the daytime and swam all over. They are some of my favorite fish.

I heard that the Asian gift and aquarium shop on 38th has them in stock right now, though the one time I went there…. Years back, the tanks were crazy dirty and I felt so bad for the fish that I bought a few just to get them out of there.
