Stopped at the mall in Kelso for a break in a little weekend drive getaway and saw what seemed to be a very new fish store starting up inside the Three Rivers Mall in Kelso. We had stopped in on a Saturday at noon and they were not open yet, people inside said maybe in half an hour… by then we were done with our stop and were ready to go so we didnt get to see anything. This seems odd but the mall didn’t really become active until noon to one in the afternoon! Its a mall that seems like it should close but in this area features their public library, fitness center, movie theater and small shops. In fact there was a corner store that looked like an old jewelry storefront that was way to big for a vendor to sell beef jerky of all things, lol.

Display tanks in front window of fish store were bare bottom. Had tanks with puffers, believe them to be Amazon puffers. A couple tanks with a mix of fish including some sort of neon “Glow” angels, red severum, electric blue acara, some syno cats, discus. A bit of hodgepodge but looks like fish you wont find at the big box pet stores. Realistically if you want good fish, just a short drive and you can stop at Pet Works in Longview.

Just wanted to post this in case anyone is in the area and wanted to check it out.

Is that mall as desolate as South Hill? Saw a shoe store in there that had like 12 pairs and some used ones. Sometimes I wonder if some of these places aren't just money laundering schemes.

Typical small town mall with a lack of stores to fill it. The closer we got to 1pm in the afternoon more shops opened up. Many were activity based, like a gaming store (board and card based) that as soon as they opened had at least 8 people in there. There was a very cool kitchen store that carried a lot of high end kitchen equipment, didnt seem to fit the small town mall but there they were. Seemed more swap meet than a professional mall. There is a Target that is the entrance to the parking lot of the mall. The mall should try and get them as an anchor store and attach it to the mall. Even some of the local restaurants... oh well.

As to original topic, hopefully the new store sees success and helps encourage the hobby in Kelso.
