Yes the worm segments are still moving so he strikes those no problem. He eats pellets as they float down but spits out after realizing it’s not fresh. Someone from MFK suggested 1 week fast to make it nice and hungry then try pellet again. Are the chopped worms still moving and triggers feeding? Or has it at least figured out dead food? That is a step if it figures out dead food. Reminds me a lot of training puffers to eat. Mine wont take pellets but they will eat some moving stuff like pieces of fish filet, krill, shrimp.
Thank you Dave! Hope you’re doing well, man! Have you seen the 600 at AP? It’s amazing and so is the Odoe characin they have in it!That is an awesome looking goby!
He never took to pellets unfortunately. Frozen stuff only. I’ve even threatened him with being steamed and prepared with scallions and a light soy/rice wine sauce!Did you ever get this guy pellet trained?
I have looked at the 'water cow' goby in the past and would love to get one but havent found one of good starting size. Pet Works in Olympia had a large one about 10 -12" at one point but they were keeping it in brackish and were telling people it was brackish. I didnt think that was the case and didnt want to work at converting the fish over to freshwater. Plus I wanted a bit smaller a fish to start with, maybe like 6" or so.
Found the old picture I took from Pet Works
