The end of the beginning...and a new beginning

Always kinda sad when you have to take down the first tank you ever set up. Today I emptied the tank I had left at my previous residence, the tank that really got me hooked on the whole fish life, and moved the remaining fish over to one of my current tanks.

Although the tank and stand will be moved over to my house and stored for future use (and I'm SURE I'll find something to put in it soon enough), it's always a little sad to see your longest running tank dismantled. I decided it was best to combine two tanks rather than move one, and start yet ANOTHER new tank for my upcoming African Cichlid project. Doing it this way will free up one tank I already have.

The emptied 55 gallon-

I bet they like the upgrade to more space.

I've had my 55 gallon for over 30 years and it was always sad to take it down when we moved. It's been all over the western US. :)

I think they'll like it, unfortunately my Arowana is a dick so I moved some plants for them to hide in too.

I moved my Blue Phantom and Leopard Frog Pleco, two Siamese Algae Eaters, Bolivian Ram, Apisto, a Tetra and my Fire Eel.

lol, nothing except for the fact you are one of the few puffer owners here.

I have a hairy puffer named scruffy who was POTM for like six months.

Ah yeah I recognize that one. I have a Fahaka and a Hairy. I've thought about an Mbu but I haven't seen Cory sell any yet :)

I love my little puffer, lazy as can be but totally recognizes me and its fun to tong feed him. Would love a big beast like a fahaka or mbu but no space for any more tanks! With our new house being so small I am happy with my 300g and 75g that I will have going.

lol, that is cute! They totally look like scruffy little mutts, thats why I named mine 'Scruffy'. I notice your looks pretty light on the lighter colored substrate. Does it always look that way? Mine is on a dark and is pretty much dark the whole time.

Occasionally he looks a little darker, but he's usually pretty close to that. I suppose that may change as he gets older. I think I've only had him 3 or 4 months.

I have mine in a 40B with an AC110 but with the move I am going to upgrade him to a 75g with an AC110 and Ehiem 2217. I have this idea of trying a school of white clouds out... nit sure yet how good of a hunter my scruffy is...

Mine is just in a 29 for now. I put a few long tail rosey barbs in with him once...it was not the best idea.
