Hello. I have 4 maybe 5 Sulawesi Cardinal shrimp still available. Also known as white gloves All adults. Also have a new bottle of Sulawesi 8.5 that will go with them ($25 bucks online).
I'm asking $50 or BO.
Willing to trade for...
Pair of Long fin BN plecs (super reds, green dragons, calico) or? I have Albinos already.
L200 or what kind of pleco do you have?
Dozen quality red chrystal shrimp.
Unique show guppies.

Motivated to get these guys on there way and get their tank harboring something else, so feel free to make an offer.

Ps... these shrimp require unique care. And you shoukd be aware of how to tend to them before pick up.

And that's the snail on my list too... T_T
I know someone will snag this. Not enough time to set up the tank right away.. Still doing my research for the Sulawesi tank...

Where did you get the shrimps?

Shrimp originally came from a independent breeder off of Aquabid last year.

Gotcha! I saw 2 posting for the shrimp also from Aquabid. They're still available there today. Well lucky for someone who will get it from you.. Wonder who else in Washington keeping a Sulawesi tank... The shrimp and snails looks really nice..

How was your experience with the shrimp? Is it hard to keep them? I know the cardinal shrimp is sensitive with water parameter and temperature. They are brakish water shrimp am I correct? since they came from salty water from Indonesia.

They do require a little more attention. They like it over 82 degrees, yes a bit brackish, wich is what the sulawesi 8.5 does and buffers pH to over 8. Not exactly hard... just requires a diffrent routine. I also have Neos, and Taiwan bees but these giys defiantly demand a little more attention. But soooo beautiful.

I had experience with Brakish water. I think crush coral or Argonite sand will help the water parameter stable. When you first got it, did you have a matured tank already or a fully set up specifically for Sulawesi shrimp and snails? Did you got them to breed? What substrate are you using for their tank?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get info for someone who have experience with the shrimp.

Tank substrate is fluval stratum shrimp/plant. (I set up 3 at the same time and had the othwr stocked right away). Then it ran empty for about 8 weeks while I hunted them down and saved a few bucks for the shrimp. I got 7 They did really well. I lost 2 the first week (positive it was completely my fault.) I Had a couple drops but it took a little bit. I had a more experience guy give me a couple tips...mainly, stop topping off the water as often and stop feeding them just let them graze. I was confused but 6 weeks latter I had shrimplets. Tank wasn't as "prestine" looking as I like. Lol. But they liked it. I asked how often I should throw in a supplement food and he said, dont. So I haven't feed them and they are thriving. A guy in orgen purchased all I had, (I wouldn't sell my 5 largest) but here we are a month latter and the wife has convinced me to sell them out and repurpose the tank.

I see... I'm assuming that the tank is field with brown and green algae, since that what the shrimp preferred and feed from it? How was your tank wall? Field with algae also?

Kept it really simple... stacked slate and some previous owned driftwood.
The next time i set up a Sulawesi tank I will probably get more detailed w the set up. The novice that I am/was to shrimp keeping I did ok. But again these guys are definitely a bit more demanding.
I'm just still so in love with their coloring. Plus the yellow cheecks and the harliqueens. I will definitely set up another tank in the future. This experience was a good one, but was a ruff species to learn on a curve with. Lol.

Yellow cheeks are so nice but more expensive than the Cardinals.. What tank size are you keeping them?

You think a matten style filter will work fine for the Cardinals? Thinking about using that style so I can hide the heater and so I add some filter medias behind it.

Matten as in foam sheet filter, right?
The shrimp will love it! Smart. I don't think they "filter" as much as they harbor, but w a shrimp only tank it probably would work well. And yea, hide heater too.

Haha.. Yup.. I am also putting a small Azoo mignon on the back for the actual filter then just some media's on the back of the matten foam sheet. Hoping to get some moss grow to it too.
