I doubt it..... but I know nothing about that specific salt. I'd wait for actual expert opinions, which I would never label myself as...

Here are some links for you to read up on:
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?421683-Can-I-use-this-water-softener-from-Lowe-s-Diamond-Crystal-brand

So from what I gather in reading the info is that it should be fine to use. Just be careful when using water softening salts because some brands may have additives. If in doubt look for the MSDS sheet on the manufacturers website and this will give you the info you need to do a little research.

Hi Jessielynn1024,

The Diamond Crystals Solar Salt is 100% sodium chloride, no additives, according to the MSDS for the product. http://www.lakeland.edu/AboutUs/MSDS/PDFs/250/Salt%20for%20Water%20Softeners%20%28Culligan%20&%20Cargill%29.pdf and it should be safe for your tanks.

If you don't have delicate fish or live plants then one level tablespoon per 5 gallons is a good dosage. I would not add it all at once but rather over several days.

The only issue with salt is that it will soften the water. And yes 1tbl /5gal.
When i add salt, which is only when i see issues, i use the non iodized salt from Costco. 20lbs for 4$. I use what you have in my SA tank to help soften the water
